DEW-100 AND DEW-600 DECK

EXPOSURE WORK DRYSUITS

Deck Exposure Work Dry Suits and Ice Rescue Suits

KME manufactures a specialized Dry Suit called the DEW-100 (Deck Exposure Work suit), that may be used as an every day working exposure suit or, if necessary, as a survival dry suit. Please note: The DEW Dry Suit IS NOT rated by the U. S, Coast Guard as a "Survival Suit" for several technical reasons, including the fact that the DEW comes in fitted sizes (not "one size must fit all" of the rated survival suit).  It is designed to function as such in case the wearer accidentally goes into the water. This dry suit is ideal for use while working on deck when wind blown rain or seas are coming aboard, or when there is a chance of the wearer being swept or falling over the side into cold water.   This suit model was tested at the US Coast Guard Surf Training School in Ilwako, Washington, on the bar of the Columbia River, the roughest year around surf zone in the USA.

The DEW-600 model has the same KME Super Heavy Weave nylon outside fabric as our Commercial Drysuits in the 600 series.

Fire Departments with small lakes and ponds in their jurisdictions that freeze in the winter are using the Ice Rescue version of the DEW suits for their non-diving rescue teams.  Another specialized use for DEW suits is for professional clam diggers in the Puget Sound clam beds in the winter (they use fishing waders in the summer, but these do not provide enough protection in winter).

The DEW-100 & DEW-600 Dry Suits are tailored suit models.  These dry suits should be sized to fit the wearer with work clothes on under the suit, allowing them to move about and work in relative comfort.  KME will provide measuring instructions on request.

FEATURES:

A.  DEW-100 is a heavy duty version, for those using the dry suit to work in.  The DEW-600 is the Super Heavy version

      of the same drysuit.

B.  "Cover-all" design with waterproof zipper up the front from crotch to neck below the chin for easy dressing in and out.

The suit can also be ventilated by zipping it partially open down the front while away from the water.

C.  Dry suit type wrist seals with hook and loop adjustment so hands are bare for working (or using work gloves).

D.  "Wetsuit glove" type pockets on the chest to keep bare hands warm when in the water.

E.  Boot Feet with boots sized to wearer for best traction and agility on deck.  Optional boot types.

F.  Knee pads for added suit protection.

G.  Roll up attached hood with detachable face protector for warmth in and out of the water.

H.  Optional "SOLIS" reflective tape on hood and/or arms and/or shoulders.

I.   Optional choice of external pocket on thigh area of suit, several types of pockets to choose from.

The KME-DEW Dry Suit is manufactured to the same strict specifications and standards as our diving dry suits and it will stand up to the rigors of every day hard use in tough marine working environments. To make the DEW series dry suits adaptable for more specialized working situations, most of the Options for KME Dry Suits can be ordered with your suit. KME will quote prices on special options to your specifications and/or requirements.
