The KME AC-38 ZIPPER-LUBE solid lubricant stick was developed to meet
the specifications set forth by the New Zipper Company in England, patent
holder and manufacturer of waterproof and gas tight zippers (BDM brand).
The base (carrier) of ZIPPER-LUBE is a special grade of paraffin wax, which
has 4.5% by volume of a special compound of silicone (about the average amount
in a spray silicone, the rest being the carrier) blended into it in a proprietary method
developed by KME.

AC-38 ZIPPER-LUBE 3/4 ounce stick is packaged in a convenient plastic jar
with and attached lid to keep it from becoming contaminated and to keep it from
rubbing silicone on other things in your dive gear bag.
KME includes a 1/4 oz. sample size ZIPPER-LUBE stick with every KME Dry Suit
and with all zipper replacements (see Repairs page) we send out.
ZIPPER-LUBE will not cause deterioration of the adhesive bonding the
zipper to the drysuit, causing leaks, and it will not penetrate the cut edge of
the zipper's body tape, causing delamination. Liquid and "grease" silicones
and soft waxes are known to do so to waterproof zippers.I
ZIPPER-LUBE will not collect and hold sand and shell fragments that can
cause premature wear to the metal parts of the zipper. Shell particles have
also been known to puncture the zipper tape, causing leaks. Please note
that bee's wax and other soft sticky lubricants are known to cause these
problems.
